Liz Whiston-Dean has been practicing yoga for several years, and is a Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT) and Certified Holy Yoga Teacher. She began practicing after seeing a personal friend have a major physical transformation through yoga. She did not anticipate the far-reaching impact of that first video! Within weeks, Liz was beginning to respect and appreciate her body like never before, and gradually this resulted in a new approach to eating. She lost 25 pounds in a period of several months with yoga as her only exercise. Along the way, she realized how her quieted spirit was becoming more available to connect with Christ. Yoga was such a natural connection to her spiritual life that she began reading all she could about Christians practicing yoga, and teaching yoga classes at her church. It took a few years for her to find Brooke Boon and Holy Yoga, and she immediately knew that she wanted to pursue training and teaching in the Holy Yoga style. A former athlete, Liz has re-embraced physical activity as a result of her yoga practice. She is particularly interested in helping women to learn to love their bodies and to treat their bodies as gifts from God. Liz enjoys bringing her students together on their mats in a time of worship, fellowship and prayer. Physically healthy and centered on Christ, we can then go out to better serve Him.

Liz has recently relocated to Virginia’s New River Valley and is developing her class schedule. She is available for retreats and private classes, and is happy to explore bringing Holy Yoga to your church or other location in Pulaski, Radford, Christiansburg or Blacksburg.
